Refinished Floors

The flooring people came out this week to refinish our new wood floors.  I don't have a good picture of what they looked like before they were refinished, but they were covered in drywall putty, paint, dust, scratched from workers walking on them, etc.

The first step of the process was to decide on a color.  Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of the samples that were put on the floor that we picked from.  But we knew we wanted something darker.  We picked a few stains and the floor guy added a few more and put them all on an area in front of one of the kitchen islands.  We ended up picking the one that he thought was the best, and had recommended on top of our initial selections.  It is a mix of Red Mahogany and Jacobean.  It's a dark color, with a bit of a red tint, and looks great with our cabinets and colors.
